New single out now!
I've released a song that is so very special to me. It's called Someday, and is the first song I ever wrote, at 15 years old. It is a song triggered by mental health issues, but also a song that acted as a catalyst for my own songwriting and musical creativity, becoming a starting point for everything I do today. After many years of trying to write music, I finally had something to say and this song just came to me.
This release is a bit different since I decided to record Someday with just two instruments: piano and my own voice. It felt as the perfect thing to do, to embrace the feeling of that early songwriting as well as put focus towards the meaning of the song.
I wrote this song battling with depression and eating disorders, and I hope that it can find its way to anyone who needs a bit of consolation in these times!
Someday was release on Friday the 24th of July and is the last single before Alyza's debut EP, coming later this year.
Get In Line out now!
Get In Line, the second single from Alyza’s upcoming debut EP, is a song that’s become Alyza’s own self proclaimed anti-fuckboy anthem. The lyrical theme is that of being pursued by someone whose player reputation precedes them, and musical inspirations have been drawn from The Andrew Sisters as well as old school soul and rock’n’roll.
While following the sound and attitude of debut single Don’t Ya, Get In Line also comes with a twist that hints at what else you might expect from the upcoming EP. The single does not only include the song Get In Line but also Boy Bye (Outro), an improvised jam session based on the song itself.
